NAB chief appointment administrative matter; doesn’t need politicians’ consultation: PM
CHARSADDA, Oct 12 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said appointment of Chairman NAB is an administrative matter and is not a binding on President to consult politicians before taking decision.He said this while replying to various questions of media-men after addressing a ceremony of Waseela-e-Rozgar Scheme of Benazir Income Support Programme in Charsadda on Tuesday.The Prime Minister said appointment of Chairman NAB is not a constitutional issue which requires consultation of opposition leader and coalition partners.It was an administrative issue and therefore the President signed the summary without the consultation of coalition partners, he reiterated.
In response to a question about hearing of NRO case in Supreme Court,the Prime Minister replied that he would not appear before the Supreme Court on Wednesday in the case as on this day Turkish Prime Minister is visiting Pakistan on his special invitation.
About change in government, Mr.Gilani said he is listening to such news for the last several months, adding major political parties are in coalition with PPP and no other could form better government than ours.
Categorically ruling out the chances of mid term polls, he said the country’s situation does not permit even holding local government elections.
Propaganda about snap polls is just a rumor and nothing-else.When asked as if Pakistan is taken on board in peace negotiation between Taliban and America, Prime Minister Gillani said peace in Afghanistan cannot be brought without involvement of Pakistan.
Responding to a question about concern of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government over formula for distribution of aid being received by Pakistan under the Kerry Logar Bill, the Prime Minister said the aid is delayed due to propaganda spread by vested elements about dissolution of government. He held out assurance that no injustice will be done in distribution of aid received for foreign countries are provided by local people.
He said even the amount collected under the Prime Minister fund will also be distributed equally on the grounds that which province received much damage due to terrorism and flood.
When asked about issuing of fact sheet against former President Pervez Musharraf by PML(N), Prime Minister said Pervez Muhsarraf had dethroned the elected government of Nawaz Sharif which is a condemnable act.
