Musharraf treason case ruling put off until tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has postponed until tomorrow (Thursday) its ruling on a constitutional petition, seeking registration of a high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf, Sharifuddin Pirzada and Malik Muhammad Qayyum, a private news channel reported on Tuesday. According to the channel, Maulvi Iqbal Haider advocate filed this petition. The court had reserved its ruling two weeks ago after it completed the hearing. The case ruling was scheduled for Tuesday according to the cause list, but the court delayed the verdict until Thursday, the channel added. The petition said Musharraf imposed martial law in the name of emergency by taking an extra-constitutional measure on November 3, 2007 and Pirzada and Qayyum abetted him. On this ground, all the three should be sentenced for high treason under Article-6 of the constitution. app
