Employees to be offered options under devolution process

ISLAMABAD: The federal employees working in various ministries planned to be shifted to other provinces under the devolution process, will be offered an opportunity to opt either for mutual transfer, deputation or the golden handshake, Daily Times learnt on Thursday.
The Implementation Commission on the 18th Amendment headed by Mian Raza Rabbani, discussed different aspects of the concerns raised by the employees when their parent ministries and departments were going to be shifted to the provinces. Sources told Daily Times that the Establishment Division gave a final briefing on the shifting of three ministries to the provinces under the 18th Amendment. It was told that five ministries had been all set to be shifted to the provinces in the last week of November.
These ministries include Population Welfare, Youth Affairs, Local Bodies and Rural Development, Zakat and Usher and Special Initiatives.
While five more ministries, including Culture and Tourism, Special Education, Social Welfare, Special Education and Minorities’ Affairs would be shifted to the provinces in January 2011.
