Sacrifices of Karsaz tragedy martyrs not to go waste: PM
ISLAMABAD, Oct 18 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy will not go waste and the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to make Pakistan a democratic, progressive and prosperous country would be translated into a reality.He was talking to Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim who called on him here at the PM House on Monday.The Prime Minister, who is the vice Chairman of PPP, paid rich tribute to the Karsaz martyrs saying: “this day reminds us that moderate and democratic forces are battling against the forces of extremism.”
He said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of resistance against the forces of extremism and militancy, adding, that the sacrifices of Karsaz martyrs has strengthened the resolve of the nation to stand against these forces.
The Prime Minister said that the government has embarked upon the policy of reconciliation and consultation in line with the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and this has helped in resolution of issues of national importance with consensus.
He reiterated the resolve to pursue this policy in the future course of governance.
Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who is also vice Chairman of PPP, informed the Prime Minister about various initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce for further enhancing the trade links of Pakistan with various international blocks and countries.
He also briefed the Prime Minister about the projected trade volume and other steps for attracting more investment in various sectors in the country.
