MQM to quit government if promises not fulfilled: Altaf
Daily Times Monitor
LAHORE: If the federal government will not give up breaking promises then the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will take a stern decision, a private TV channel reported MQM chief Altaf Hussain as saying on Monday.
In his telephonic address with the political gathering of MQM workers at Nine-Zero in Karachi, Altaf Hussain asked the government to fulfil its promises, or the people would decide whether the MQM would remain with the government or choose a separate path. The MQM chief said that his party had stayed with the government despite the fact that the government had not fulfilled its promises. He said that no one should take the MQM’s democratic behaviour as its weakness, the channel reported.
Hussain said that it was not in the manifesto of the MQM to remain with the government. “MQM’s destiny is the revolution,” he said, adding that his party’s victory had been a sign of a revolution.
He said that miscreants from defeated factions had planned the bloodshed in Karachi, the channel reported.
