Dinner to form alliance of PML factions in Karachi
KARACHI: The ongoing efforts to unite different factions of Pakistan Muslim League were seem gaining momentum, as the leaders of different Pakistan Muslim League's factions gathered at Kingri House, residence of Pir Sahib Pagaro, on Thursday night for a dinner before their formal meeting for an alliance of all factions on Friday.
Meanwhile, the meeting voiced grave objections at the presence of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML)’s leaders on the occasion.
Among others, the dinner was attended by former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, founding leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q Mian Azhar, President PML-Q (Like-minded group) Salim Saifullah Khan, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) leaders Barrister Saif and Rashid Qureshi, Chief of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Pakistan Muslim League-Zia leader Ejazul Haq.
Formal meeting for merger of different factions of the League would be held on Friday (today) at Kingri House. Talking to newsmen, former Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali said that he had struggled for uniting different factions of Pakistan Muslim League in the past and would do the same in future.
Barrister Saif said that may Allah give guidance to Nawaz Sharif so that he would become part of the united League. Unity of League's factions has become inevitable now, he added.
Saleem Saif Ullah said that his party was ready to sit with everyone including PML-N for unification of different Leagues. Sheikh Rashid said if Nawaz Sharif joined United Muslim League it would be beneficial for him otherwise he would be big loser. The PML-Q leaders were conspicuous by their absence from the dinner.
