Karachi stays unplugged for 12 hours
KARACHI: Most of the areas of the metropolis continue to face severe loadshedding, as the outages of up to 12 hours have made it impossible for the citizens to carry out routine activities, Geo News reported Sunday.
However, the spokesman of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), has claimed that only 3 to 4-hour loadshedding was being undertaken.
The most affected of the city are North Karachi, Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Area, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Defence, Orangi, Jacob Line, Lyari and Kharadar are most affected which get plugged for one hour and unplugged for the next one to one-and-a-half-hour.
The spokesman of the utility said on the directive of Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Asim, only 190 MMF gas was being supplied by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to KESC.
The power supply from National Transmission Distribution Company has also declined to 300 MW against the normal supply of 650 MW.
The power prolonged loadshedding has also affected the water supply to the citizens, further adding to their hardship.
