Govt plea in NAB chief appointment case rejected

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has rejected government's request to extend the deadline to appoint the NAB Chairman until the review plea in Deedar Hussain Shah case is settled, Geo News reported.

The SC had ordered the immediate appointment of NAB chairman early this year and had even given a deadline of one month (ended in August) but the government like several other court orders turned a blind eye to this order of the apex court too.

Two-member bench comprising Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali read out the verdict rejecting the government's plea.
