PPP’s further stay in power disastrous for country: Nawaz
LAHORE: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has said that it is possible to bring about a peaceful constitutional change through parliament, adding it will be easy to get rid of the present government if PML-Q parts ways with the government. Addressing a meeting in Jaati Umra on Wednesday, he said that in case of no-confidence move against Gilani government, someone other than PML-N could be a candidate for the premiership. He said that in view of the track record of the government, he had come to the conclusion that it was incorrigible and its further stay in power could be disastrous for the country. He said there was no truth in the news item that he met Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, adding that he met him only at the recently concluded All Parties Conference. He said that the course of mistakes that Musharraf began to tread in war against terror was also being followed by the present government, and PML-N was ready to help the government and security forces extricate Pakistan from this situation. He said had the resolutions adopted by parliament in October 2008 and May 2011 been implemented and had the government taken a firm stance on the issue of Raymond Davis, Pakistan would not have been facing the current situation. staff report
