Rana Shamim dies of dengue fever

LAHORE: Rana Shamim Ahmad Khan Advocate, former Punjab Assembly deputy speaker died of dengue fever at Sheikh Zayed Hosptial Lahore on Sunday night. Rana belonged to Faisalabad and was elected as Punjab Assembly deputy speaker in 1970. His funeral procession will be taken out from his residence in Douglaspur Faisalabad on Monday. As many as 15,035 dengue fever patients have so far been reported in the province, out of whom 12,961 belong to Lahore, said a report issued by the health department of Punjab on Sunday. At present, 1,422 patients are under treatment at various hospitals of Punjab, out of whom 1,199 patients are under treatment in different hospitals of Lahore. app
