Govt to hold senate elections on time: Khosa

LAHORE: Governor Punjab Abdul Lateef Khosa on Wednesday said that Senate elections will be held on the stipulated time no matter if anyone tenders resignation or assemblies were dissolved, Geo News reported.

Governor Punjab was talking to media men during his visit to a carpet exhibition in Lahore.

In regard to the severe energy crisis being faced by the country, Khosa said a greater responsibility of power and gas loadshedding fell on the provinces following the passage of the 18th amendment.

"All the provinces undertook measures to tackle the worsening problem of loadshedding with an exception to Punjab which failed to add even a single megawatt," he regretted.

He said the Chief Minister Punjab should first of all get the issue of Ayesha Ahad resolved. "If he (CM Punjab) cannot put his own house in order then how could he have the whole provinces' problems addressed."
