Punjab not consulted on two holidays: CM
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday the provincial government was not consulted over the decision to have two weekly holidays, adding it was not bound to implement the decision. Shahbaz said since the federal government had not consulted the Punjab government regarding two weekly holidays, therefore it was not party to this decision. Earlier, provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had said the provincial government was not in favour of two weekly holidays. Sanaullah added that the provincial government will express its reservations in the Council of Common Interests. The federal cabinet decided on two weekly holidays in an effort to tackle the energy crisis. daily times monitor
