Sindh flood-affectees still deep in water
KARACHI: The flood-affectees of Sindh are neck-deep in water even today, Geo News reported.
With the land routes still inundated thousands of flood-victims from Badin District have not yet been able to return to whatever is left of their homes.
Pakistan Card is hard to come by for them as the whole procedure to acquire one is wrapped in thick layers of red tape on top of rush and disorderliness at banks.
One such affectee told Geo News that given the circumstances getting hold of the coveted ‘Pakistan Card’ seems next to impossible.
There in Mir Pur Khas the traffic is suffering big time after authorities dug open a part of Degree Road to drain the floodwater out.
One of the drain-rivers is still flowing over the bridge that joins Nau Kot and Mitthi.
Apart from that water is still trapped in many areas of Badin and Khairpur with no efforts being made to drain it out.
