SC not to observe two weekly offs

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced that it will not observe two weekly offs, Geo News reported.

A five day work week has been announced by the government as a measure to tackle the energy crisis.

A full court meeting of the apex court decided that alternative measures should be taken to deal with the crisis instead.

The full court meeting was chaired by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry and decided that due to the workload on judges the court would work six days a week.

In 2009 the Supreme Court adopted the same policy when the government announced two weekly offs.
