A Full Court meeting presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at the SC building on Monday unanimously resolved that the SC judges would attend the Court proceedings on five days in a week and the sixth day (Saturday) is reserved for writing judgments for which the presence of staff is necessary, therefore decides not to opt for two-holidays a week and continue working as before.

Retiring judge: The Full Court meeting appreciated the services rendered by Justice Ghulam Rabbani who is going to lay off his robes on tomorrow (Wednesday). The CJP praised commitment, dedication, sense of duty, honesty and legal acumen of the honourable judge.

Disposal of cases: The meeting took stock of the rate of disposal and institution of cases in the apex court and expressed its satisfaction over the performance of the Court. While reviewing the number of pending cases, the CJP added that although there was high rate of institution of fresh cases, yet the rate of disposal is also fairly high and therefore pendency is gradually reduced.
