WAPDA denies Diamer-Bhasha Dam profit distribution news
LAHORE: Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) spokesperson has refuted a news item attributed to WAPDA chairman regarding net hydel profit distribution of Diamer-Bhasha Dam between Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As a matter of fact, the spokesperson said, WAPDA Chairman Shakeel Durrani did not talk to any media person on the issue at all. The spokesperson further clarified that a commission, appointed by Pakistan Supreme Court (PSC) and Gilgit-Baltistan Appelate Court, will decide the matter pertaining to demarcation of land.
Hence, the news item attributed to WAPDA is baseless and contrary to the fact, the clarification concludes. pr
