PML-N to rid Sindhis of ‘daku raj’: Nawaz
* PML-N chief says his party will rid Pakistan of corrupt government
SHAHDADPUR: Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that his party would rid the people of Sindh of ‘Daku Raj’ and people of the country of the corrupt government.
Addressing a huge gathering of flood-affected people of interior Sindh in Shahdadpur, the PML-N chief said that he wanted that people of Sindh supported the PML-N in making a new Pakistan.
He said that flood victims were leading miserable and helpless lives in camps and their houses and fertile lands had been washed away by floodwaters.
He asked the government to provide Rs 100,000 to each flood-affected individual as compensation. He said that since 1947, interior Sindh was being kept backward and its people had some reservations.
He promised that if he came to power again would address all grievances of people of Sindh, as he had eliminated ‘Daku Raj’ in the province during his regime.
He demanded that those who were involved in creating unrest in Karachi should be brought to justice and given stern punishment.
“Had Nawaz Sharif’s government been not taken over by a military dictator, interior Sindh would have been prosperous now,” he said, adding that lands to farmers would have been provided if he were in power. He said that during the current PPP regime, the country was facing a number of crisis, including shortage of gas and electricity as well as price hike. inp
