SC okays 2 to join written-off loans probe
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has approved the recommendations regarding appointment of the members of a commission formed to probe into written-off loans worth billions, Geo News reported.
The commission headed by Justice (Retd) Jamshed Ali had filed a reference in this connection.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry headed the bench, which heard the case.
The State Bank of Pakistan, the other party, proposed that a chartered accountant must be made a part of the commission, which was declined.
Supreme Court after some deliberation greensignalled the names of Malik Akran and Abrar Saeed Raazi.
Moreover Justice (Retd) Jamshed also gave reasons, in black and white, as to why he had declined the proposal of appointing a chartered accountant, the SC said.
