‘Go Zardari Go’ movement to be spread all over country: Shahbaz

BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced on Saturday that the ‘Go Zardari Go’ movement would be spread all over the country.
Talking to the media after offering condolences to MNA Baleeghur Rehman over the demise of his father, former MNA Aqeelur Rehman, Shahbaz Sharif said that the “Go Zardari Go” movement would be organised at the district level and that arrangements were being made to spread the movement all over the country.
He said the country would soon be rid of President Zardari and his cronies through this movement, adding that the rulers had pushed the country to the brink of destruction with their rampant corruption. With regard to the dengue epidemic, he claimed that the outbreak had been controlled, adding that the dengue attack in Pakistan had been very intense according to Sri Lankan experts.
Addressing workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif said that the party’s rally would prove that the masses were with the PML-N in its efforts to get rid of inefficient and corrupt rulers and that they would lay down the foundation of a new Pakistan through their enthusiastic participation in the rally. He said that the corrupt government had given nothing except darkness and despair to the people. He questioned how a country could progress if its president was engaged in looting and plundering, adding that the greed and lust of the person sitting in the President’s House had destroyed the whole system.
The chief minister further said that new scandals of the federal government were being exposed almost daily and that PIA, Pakistan Railways, Steel Mills and other institutions had been ruined by corruption, while inflation and unemployment had made the lives of the people miserable. He claimed that corruption had been promoted in the name of rental power plants during the last three years and that no attention had been paid to the generation of power to keep industries working.
Shahbaz Sharif observed that the country had plunged into darkness due to the wrong policies of the government, adding that the poor had lost their livelihoods and that the export orders of billions of rupees had been cancelled. He said that the nation might have to face even more loadshedding in the near future.
Referring to the Chichoki Maliyan and Nandipur power plants, the chief minister claimed that the government was minting money by keeping the projects pending, adding that additional expenditure of Rs 18 billion would have to be incurred by the government on those projects.
He said that President Zardari, in order to prolong his rule, had gathered Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves around him, who were engaged in the ruthless plunder of the resources of the country. He said that in 1947, a struggle was waged to obtain freedom from Hindu imperialism and that now the PML-N had decided to get rid of the corrupt Zardari government for the survival and of the country. He said that the people were looking towards PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to lead them in the struggle against the inefficient rulers. He said that the PML-N would save Jinnah’s and Iqbal’s Pakistan from corrupt and inefficient rulers and would transform it into an Islamic welfare state in the real sense so that justice be available to every citizen, resources be distributed equitably and equal opportunities of progress be available to all. He said that all patriotic citizens would participate in the Save Pakistan rally to prove that the country had not been created for looters and plunderers, but for upholding justice and Islamic values. He said that nothing could be more important than the survival of the country and that every sacrifice would be made in this regard. agencies
