Zil-Haj moon sighted in Saudi Arabia

KARACHI: Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on October 15 in Saudi Arabia as Zil-Haj moon has been sighted in the Kingdom, state television reported on Saturday (today).

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said that Zil-Haj crescent is expected to be sighted Sunday.

The Met office said that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on October 16 if the moon was sighted on Sunday. The Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th day of Zil-Haj.

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will meet at Met Complex on Sunday to decide about the sighting or otherwise of the Zil-Haj moon, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, will preside over the meeting. It further stated that the meeting would commence after the Asr prayers.
