Govt likely to appoint Kamran Shafi as Pak High Commissioner to UK

ISLMABAD: The government is expected to appoint renowned columnist and former military officer Kamran Shafi as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, sources said Thursday.

Geo News Islamabad Bureau Chief Rana Jawad has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken the decision to appoint Shafi as High Commissioner. However, he said no notification has been issued regarding the posting of Shafi.

Experts described the decision as surprising and a bold move by the Nawaz government since Shafi has been one of the staunch critics of Pakistan’s armed forces.
