MQM moves SHC against NADRA’s verification of thumbprints

KARACHI: Two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers on Thursday filed an application in the Sinh High Court, challenging verification of thumbprints by NADRA.

Iqbal Muhammad Ali, MNA from NA-256 and Waqar Hussain Shah, MPA from PS-128 moved the plea through their lawyer Abrar Hussain Shah.

They contended that as to why the NADRA’s system, which is unable to read thumb impression, is being relied upon.

The counsel said that propaganda has been carried out against the MQM on the basis of a report submitted with the Election Tribunal by the NADRA.

The Sindh High Court is expected to take up the petition for hearing on Friday.
