Targeted operation to continue until last terrorist is captured: Sharjeel

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that targeted operation in Karachi will continue until the arrest of last terrorist, even if it takes four years to complete.

He was talking to media on Monday after a high-level meeting on law and order situation held here at the Chief Minister’s House.

He said that the “drive to surrender illegal weapons voluntarily” was launched in the light of Supreme Court orders. Memon, however, said that the campaign failed to achieve desired results.

He said that the government already knew that the campaign would not succeed, adding that its aim was just to issue warning to terrorists.

The minister said that action will be taken against those possessing illegal arms under a law passed recently and 200 new officers having law degrees will be appointed to expedite the proceedings.

The minister said that code of conduct on collection of sacrificial animals would be implemented strictly.
