Eidul Azha being celebrated in Pakistan
KARACHI: Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated across Pakistan with great religious zeal and fervour on Wednesday.
The day dawned with prayers in mosques and open grounds and was followed by sacrifices of animals in the memory of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) who sacrificed his dearest son as a token of surrendering himself to the command of Almighty Allah.
The faithful all across the country specially prayed for the security and welfare of the country on this occasion.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif offered his Eid prayers at Raiwind, Lahore. Large congregations of Eid prayers in the federal capital were held at Lal Masjid and Faisal Masjid, while in Rawalpindi it was held at the main Eidgah.
Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishratul Ebad offered his Eid prayers at the Governor House mosque along with the diplomats of the Islamic countries here. Huge congregations of Eid prayers were also held at Nishtar Park, Nazimabad Eidgah, Mahfil Shah Khurasan, New Memon Masjid, Sabeel Wali Masjid, Jinnah Ground, Masjid Khairul Amal and scores of others across the mega-metropolis city here.
In Peshawar, the main congregation of Eidul Azha prayers was held at the Eidgah, where former federal minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and hundreds of other faithful offered their prayers in high security arrangements. Besides over 500 Eid prayers congregations were held across the city.
In Quetta, the major congregation was held at the main Eidgah on Tughi Road besides Eid prayers were held at hundreds of places, mosques and open grounds including Science College, Raileway Hockey Ground, Jamia Farooquia Bypass, Sarki Road Eidgah and Kasi Eidgah.
Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Giani offered his Eid prayer in Multan. Following the prayer, talking to media he urged the rulers to give relief to the people.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker, Jan Mohammad Jamali offered his prayer at Goth Noor Mohammad in Naseerabad.
Leader of the opposition in national assembly, Khurshid Shah offered his Eid prayer at Manzilgah in Sukkur, while Senator Islamuddin Sheikh and MNA Noman Islam Sheikh at Eidgah.
