PPP would support positive steps by Nawaz govt: Zardari
LARKANA: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that his party would support every positive step of the Nawaz government for the prosperity of the country. However, he said that an alternate course of action would be looked into if the government failed to address the challenges facing the country.
Zardari and PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari returned from Dubai on Wednesday and offered Eidul Azha prayers in front of the Bhutto family mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Buksh.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, ministers, advisers, MNAs, MPAs, PPP leaders, workers, notables of the area and divisional and district officials also offered prayers with them.
They prayed for the solidarity, peace and prosperity of the country and for the welfare of its people. After the Eid prayers the former president met notables of the area, who called on him to exchange Eid greetings.
Later, they visited the graves of the Bhutto family members in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. They also visited the grave of assassinated PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and laid a wreath there and offered Fateha.
Addressing an Eid Milan party at Bilawal House in Naudero on Thursday night, Asif Ali Zardari said that his party’s government completed its tenure by following the reconciliation policy and now the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had the mandate to take decisions in the best interest of the country. He said the decisions of the PML-N government would impact the country and the future generations.
The former president said that Pakistan was passing through a challenging situation due to the conditions in Afghanistan and it needed to get out of this situation.
He said his party wants religious harmony in the country so that the militants do not take advantage of any division in society. He said that the PPP did not want religious or sectarian conflict in the country, as the militants would take advantage of the confrontations. agencies
