PM should lead dialogue process: Imran KhanDERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should play a leading role in the elimination of terrorism and success of peace dialogue. Speaking to the media after meeting with the family of slain Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister Israrullah Gandapur, Imran said that it was decided during the All Parties Conference (APC) that dialogue and not a military operation was a solution to the menace of terrorism. The PTI chief added that no political government had exercised the option of dialogue and if the present government had taken this step it should give it an opportunity to succeed. According to the PTI chairman, those who wanted to see war in the country were calling proponents of dialogue “cowards”. He said dialogue with the Taliban would become easier if they are provided an office for the purpose. He said the Taliban did not claim responsibility for three blasts in Peshawar. “Now we need to think who is behind such blasts,” Imran said. He said those who are against the peace process are behind these attacks. The PTI chief said the federal government has been empowered to go for talks with the Taliban. He said the government has never informed the PTI about any progress in the talks. Imran said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has devised a new anti-terrorism policy. He said the lack of visible progress in talks with the Taliban is providing opportunity to anti-peace elements to spread anarchy and violence in the country. inp
