PML-N rejects Indian claim on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The ruling party in Pakistan, PML-N has rejected India’s claim on Kashmir. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, PML-N chairman Raja Zafarul Haq said there was no need to submit a new resolution pertaining to the Kashmir issue in the United Nations.

Haq further said that Kashmir was not an integral part of India.

The PML-N chairman told reporters that 23 resolutions regarding Kashmir approved by both Pakistan and India had been approved by the UN. According to Haq, UN resolutions regarding Kashmir were effective and there was no need to submit a new resolution. “Voices within India are criticising the country’s policy regarding Kashmir.”

In a recent statement, Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid rejected mediation on the Kashmir issue. Khurshid also called the territory an “integral part of India.”
