President discusses drug control with Russian official
ISLAMABAD: Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Director Viktor P Ivanov on Thursday called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Presidency. Bilateral relations between Pakistan and Russia with a focus on drug and narcotics control came under discussion during the meeting. Discussing bilateral ties, the president said diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Russia had seen encouraging growth in the past few years due to bilateral contacts at various levels between the two countries. The president said that Pakistan considers Russia as a factor of stability in the region and the world, adding that close ties and cooperation between the two countries would help strengthen regional and world peace and security. “The government of Pakistan accords highest priority and had been actively involved with the UN and other international counter-narcotics partners in combating the narco-trade and drug trafficking,” the president said. app
