PM takes notice of irregularities in Kashmir Highway project
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif Saturday took strict notice of delay, alleged financial misappropriations and irregularities in Islamabad’s Kashmir Highway Project and ordered action against those responsible for the same.
The PM, upon receiving complaints, paid a surprise visit to the project cite without proper security protocol. His vehicle stopped at all the red traffic signals and no security was placed along the route.
“Taking stern notice of the inordinate delay, alleged financial manipulations of big proportions and irregularities, the Premier directed to conduct a probe and vowed not to spare those who are responsible,” said the spokesman of Prime Minister’s office.
PM Sharif also ordered to bring the quality standard of Kashmir Highway project at par with that of Motorway and to expedite completion of the project.
