MQM challenges Sindh Local Government Act 2013 in SCKARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has challenged the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 in the Supreme Court registry here on Monday.
Speaking to media outside the Supreme Court's Karachi registry, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 contradicts the constitution.
He said MQM has prayed in the apex court to declare this act void or order to amend some articles of it. He said this act is unconstitutional.
Dr Farooq Sattar said the control of education and transport should be given to local governments.
Dr Farooq said MQM does not want delay in the local bodies elections at any cost.
