SNGP to supply gas only to domestic consumers in Dec - Jan
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Monday said that Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGP) will supply gas to the domestic consumers only for two months – December and January.
Presiding over a meeting of Senate’s Functional Committee and later talking to the media persons, the Minister said Sui Northern, that supplies gas to Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will hardly be able to manage to cater to the gas requirements of domestic consumers only.
He said that the gas load management plan has been prepared under which no gas will be available for other sectors during December and January.
To a question put forth by Senator Jafar Iqbal, the Petroleum Minister said the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project was facing funding issues due to the international sanctions on Iran.
The Senate Committee underscored the need for quick completion of the ongoing gas schemes in less developed areas of the country.
