Nobody can dictate Pakistan: Nawaz*PM says Pakistan has prerogative to take its own decisions
* Won’t take any extra-judicial step over Shakeel Afridi
* Drone attacks against Pak sovereignty
LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that nobody could dictate Pakistan and the country has the prerogative to take its own decisions and it should exercise its right.
Talking to the media after his arrival in London, the prime minister said the issue of Shakeel Afridi was sub judice and the court would give its ruling in this connection.
He said the government would not take any extra-judicial step over the issue of Shakeel Afridi.
The prime minister said that drone attacks were against sovereignty of Pakistan and during his meeting with US President Barack Obama he had “very candidly and openly” discussed the issue.
Nawaz, who is in London to attend 9th meeting of the World Islamic Forum, said that peace was fast restoring in the port city of Karachi, adding that it would be restored fully.
The prime minister said it was policy of Pakistan to support a peaceful Afghanistan.
“I will hold a meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai during the scheduled trilateral talks,” he added.
About his participation in the World Islamic Forum, he said that he would present the steps being taken for improvement of the country’s economy.
The World Islamic Forum, established to enhance the economic well-being of the people of Muslim nations and communities, aims at increasing trade and business opportunities among them and the world at large.
It also highlights the economic and investment opportunities in the Muslim world and promotes dialogue and cooperation between Muslim and non-Muslim businessmen and entrepreneurs, a statement from the PM House said.
During his stay in London, Prime Minister Nawaz will also attend a trilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Hamid Karzai. appCourtesy www.dailytimes.com.pk
