Another NAB chief taken to SC
By Hasnaat Malik
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday challenged the appointment of the new National Accountability Bureau chairman, making it the third such case in the last three years.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan, through his counsel Hamid Khan, on Tuesday moved a petition in the Supreme Court under Article 184(3) of the constitution against the appointment of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry as NAB chairman, saying that the appointment is the result of a muk muka (deal) between the PPP and PML-N. Earlier, the Supreme Court had declared the appointments of Justice (r) Deedar Hussain Shah and Admiral (r) Fasih Bukhari as illegal on the request of National Assembly former leader of opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. The PTI chairman has contended that the appointment of NAB chairman is illegal, without justification and against the provision of section 6 of the NAB Ordinance 1999
