ATA sections to be included in Nine Zero suspects’ cases
KARACHI: Home Department Sindh has granted approval to the incorporation of sections from Anti-terrorism Act (ATA) in connection with the cases of suspects apprehended from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Headquarters, Nine Zero.
The Home Department approved inclusion of sections from the ATA in the cases of 15 accused rounded up from Nine Zero.
According to sources, the ATA sections from anti-terrorism act will be included in a total of 31 cases.
These sections will also be added to the case of Faisal Mota – a convict in the murder of Geo News reporter Wali Babar. Other accused whose cases will see inclusion of ATA sections are those of Shabbir alias Farhan Mullah, Amir Sar Phatta and Nadir.
Sources said, the hearing into these cases will be undertaken from October 26 onwards while the accused will be presented with a charge-sheet in the next hearing.
The Rangers had raided the MQM Headquarters commonly known as Nine Zero on March 11 this year and taken into custody dozens of suspects.
