Qureshi piqued by PTI, poised to join Musharraf
LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi is likely to quit the party over some differences, a private TV channel reported.
The news surfaced soon after the recent by-election over the party’s choice of a candidate for the NA-144 contest. The channel reported that Qureshi – a former senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party – has decided to quit the party.
Through his twitter account, Qureshi refuted reports regarding his departure from the Tehreek-e-Insaf, led by Imran Khan. Several PTI leaders pointed out Qureshi for poor performance and choosing Ashraf Sohna for the Okara-II ballot.
The channel reported that Qureshi may quit the party soon as he was not even taking calls from party chairman. It is said that Qureshi may join team of former president Pervez Musharraf who is also going to announce a united Muslim League.
