Accountability commission issues arrest warrants for ANP senator
ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Accountability Commission on Saturday issued arrest warrants for former provincial minister, Senator Sitara Ayaz for allegedly misusing her powers as minister and causing losses to the national exchequer.
The Commission has requested Inspector generals of Police Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their help to arrest the former minister.
The commission said that Sitara Ayaz is living in one of the parliament lodges, asking the IG Islamabad to help arrest the Senator.
Replying to the formal request, IG Islamabad Tahir Alam said he is not against arresting Senator but for this a prior permission would be required from Chairman Senate.
The IG further said that he has written a letter to Chairman Senate in this connection and further action would be taken after getting his reply.
