India’s failure to control Hindu extremism is criminal: Pakistan
APP
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday took serious notice of the increasing number of violent protests, which were aimed at disrupting scheduled events in India involving Pakistani nationals and called for steps to stop such happenings. The Foreign Office said, “The cancellation of the meeting of PCB chairman with his counterpart in Mumbai due to the protests by an extremist organisation is the latest in a series of such incidents that have taken place in the recent past.” “Effective measures are required to prevent continuous recurrence of such incidents in India.” Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid said that the harassment of the PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan and Member Board of Governors Najam Setthi speaks volume of rising anti-Pakistan sentiments in India. The minister urged the Indian government to ensure the safety and security of the lives and property of Indian Muslims as well as discourage such extremist elements who are out to create chaos in the society and increase misunderstandings between India and Pakistan. The silence of the Indian government over the incidents and its failure to control Hindu extremists is criminal, he said. The government of India would be responsible for any loss of life, property and dignity at the hands of extremists in India, the minister added.
