Ex-FM suggests govt not to insist talks with India
Qureshi sees no progress in Nawaz, Obama meeting

LAHORE – Former foreign affairs minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary leader in National Assembly Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan should not insist for dialogues after India’s refusal to enter into talks to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries.

“Pakistan has put its all efforts for talks with India to resolve the longstanding bilateral disputes, but India doesn’t seem sincere to resolve the issues and now Pakistan shouldn’t stress for holding talks with India,” he told reporters.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had failed completely to create an environment conducive for talks, adding that the aggressive attitude of the Modi regime in this regard was shocking.

Commenting on the meeting of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with US President Obama at the White House on Wednesday, Qureshi said that no progress was made as old issues were repeated.
