People played with emotions of Chitralis in the past: PM

CHITRAL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after arriving in Chitral said that he has come to repair the damage caused by the earthquake and he will try and solve the problems of the people on an immediate basis.

Addressing the media, PM Nawaz said, “Some people have played with the emotions of the Chitralis in the past, but we will not do that.”

The prime minister went on to say that it is his duty to provide aid to those who have been displaced, adding that by the grace of Allah this time the damage and loss has been less as compared to the 2005 earthquake.

“An aid package is being prepared for the wounded as well as the families of those who lost their lives.”

The PM announced that a new road will be built connecting Chitral’s ‘Garam Chashma’ (hot spring) to Shandur.

He added that the Lowari Tunnel project was forgotten before the PML-N government took over, however, it will be completed by the end of next year.

PM Sharif arrived in Chitral this afternoon to review the relief and rehabilitation activities underway.
