Trapped in snow for days, seven cops rescued from Naran checkpost

MANSEHRA: The Pakistan Army with the use of helicopters have rescued seven police personnel trapped for the past five days after heavy snowfall in upper Naran-Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The policeman became trapped at the checkpost in Basal, about 50 kilometres from Naran, after heavy snowfall stranded them. One policeman was killed after he tried to escape the previous night.

Two Army helicopters were used in the rescue operation, which was currently underway to search for the other missing men.
