Pakistan to effectively present stance on climate change

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan would evolve a joint stance on the issue of climate change in the best interests of the country and would present it effectively at the UN Conference on Climate Change being held in Paris from November 30 to December 11.
This was agreed in a meeting held here to deliberate upon Pakistan's stance on climate change at the forthcoming Conference. Finance minister Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting, which was also attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms.
The meeting reviewed in detail inter-ministerial consultations done by the Ministry of Climate Change as well as the stance of various other stakeholders, including private sector, on the issue of climate change, environmental protection and global warming.
The participants were informed about various aspects of climate change as well as other major contributors towards environmental pollution and global warming. Various options to improve environmental conditions in the country also came under discussion.
