PIA aircraft makes an emergency landing at Lahore
LAHORE - An emergency landing was made by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-755 at the Allama Iqbal International airport after the pilot suspected fire at the back of the airplane’s engine.
PIA Flight PK-755 was travelling to Riyadh from Sialkot when the pilot was able to notice some smoke in the cockpit and realized that the engine might have caught fire.
After a routine inspection by the authorities, no fire or burning equipment were found, said the PIA spokesman in a statement. Over 300 passengers are onboard the plane which was swiftly evacuated and many of the passengers were safely moved to the airport’s lounge.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said that a thorough inspection of the plane was underway for anything suspicious.
