PPP leaders come down hard on Imran, Nawaz

KHAIRPUR: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Member of National Assembly Nawab Khan Wassan said that 2018 would be the year of Bilawal Bhutto. Addressing a gathering on the occasion of Shah Ludhani’s Urs, he said services to common people have always remained a basic principle of PPP.

Commenting on Shahid Khaqan Abasi, Wasan said, “Prime Minister is a dummy and worth nothing but a courier to Sharif family”. He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan did not even know what to speak because he had always been speaking lies. Talking to people of his constituency, he said that PPP would always strive in larger interests of common man’s basic needs. Meanwhile, PPP’s National Assembly Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that Imran Khan hurled abuses at state institutions and later apologized. Talking to party activists at Saleh Pat, Shah said that Imran should clarify whether he believed in criticism of institutions or in a habit of apologies. He said Imran had tendered an unconditional apology to the Election Commission of Pakistan for making disrespectful remarks against the institution earlier and the Election Commission of Pakistan accepted his apology. He said that PTI chairman was accused of issuing contemptuous remarks against Election Commission of Pakistan on at least two occasions.

Criticizing chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, Shah said he had asked Nawaz to give importance to parliament time and again adding that rulers were of the mindset that once they were in power, no one could remove them. He said courts had disqualified Nawaz and he had to accept the court verdict as accepted by PPP’s Yousaf Raza Gillani but instead had been saying, ‘Mujhay Kuyoon Nikala’. The centre of power is only the masses, he said. PPP always believed in power of masses and PPP, whenever in power, resolved problems of the public, he added.
