Iran to send 10 more cargo planes of relief goods

ISLAMABAD: The Iranian government will send 10 more cargo planes carrying relief goods for the flood-affected people of Pakistan, said Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar on Friday.
“The planes carrying food, medicine and other necessary items are ready for delivery and just waiting for clearance at the airport,” he said. The Iranian minister, who has arrived in Islamabad as a special envoy of the president of Iran, Ahmadinejad, called on his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik here at the Interior Ministry and discussed the situation in flood-hit areas.
Iran has sent more than 200 tonnes in aid for the flood-ravaged people. Najjar requested the Islamic world to contribute as well. Rehman Malik expressed his gratitude to the Iranian president, the interior minister and the people of Iran for their support and contributions for the flood-affected people of Pakistan.
