Senate spokesman clarifies reports of vehicles misuse

 

ISLAMABAD: A spokesman of the Senate has clarified a news item, which appeared in a section of the press, pertaining to the misuse of vehicles by the Senate chairman. According to the spokesman, the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was reviewing the audit reports pertaining to the accounts of the Senate Secretariat for the year 2007-2008. In the said report, objections had been raised on the use of four vehicles by the then Senate chairman. The spokesman clarified that the present Chairman Farooq H Naek, became chairman of the Senate in March 2009, and he had no concern with the audit paras being examined by PAC for the year 2007-2008. staff report
