Gilani praises army for relief effort

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday appreciated Pakistan Army’s officers and jawans for their role in the rescue and relief operations in the flood hit areas, and the timely response of the army aviation in rescuing the stranded people, according to a press release by the PM house.

Talking to Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani, who called on him at the PM House, Gilani said the armed forces have an important role to play in the upcoming phase of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the flood hit areas.

The COAS briefed the prime minister on the relief activities being carried out by the army.
