50 injured in police shooting in IHK


ISLAMABAD : At least 50 innocent Kashmiri were injured when Indian paramilitary forces and Special Operations Group opened fire and resorted to brute force to disperse the protesters in Srinagar, Ganderbal and others places in the Indian Held Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Servicer,the protests intensified after the arrest of senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani.

The CRPF troopers and SOG men opened fire on peaceful protesters in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bijbehara, Shopian and Pampore. At least 50 persons including Ubaid Ahmad and Showkat Ahmad Khan were injured.

The CRPF troopers barged into the JVC Hospital, and beat the patients and attendants. The locals said that the CRPF men went berserk, barged into the houses, beat up the inmates, damaged the windowpanes and stormed the houses after the incident in different parts of the city.

The residents of Bijbehara said that the police and CRPF personnel, who were manning the every lane and bye-lane of the townships did not allow them to venture out of their houses and thrashed many people mercilessly, who ventured out to offer Nimaz in Masjids. The men in uniform also barged into the houses, ransacked the household goods, thrashed the inmates and misbehaved with the women, the residents added.

On the other hand, hundreds of people in Manigam in Ganderbal staged peaceful sit-in near Government Higher Secondary School. They were demanding the release of three arrested youth namely Ashiq Hussain Butt, Mohammad Yousuf Rather and Irfan Ahmad Rather.

Meanwhile, police arrested 14 persons from Chotta Bazaar and Guroo Bazaar in Srinagar city. app
