Japan grants $407,318 for supporting flood victims

 

ISLAMABAD: The government of Japan decided to extend financial support of $ 407,318 to the Al-Khidmat Foundation, a non-government organisation, for the Project for Supporting the Flood Affected People in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The agreement for the project was signed on Friday at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence in Islamabad between Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Chihiro Atsumi and the president of Al-Khidmat Foundation Naimatullah Khan. The grant would be utilised for flood relief activities in Charsadda. This project would benefit more than 150,000 people that have lost their property, livestock, crop and shelter.

Ambassador Atsumi expressed hope that Japan’s emergency relief would further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan. The Japanese Disaster Relief Team started its airlift activities by helicopters in Multan and also started its medical support activities in southern Punjab. staff report
