13,87,426 people rescued from flood-hit areas


ISLAMABAD, Sept 20 (APP): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has rescued 13,87,426 persons from flood-hit areas of the country. According to a press release issued here on Monday, among all, 24,630 people were rescued from Balochistan, 50,953 from Khyber-Pakhtunkwa (KPK), 38,1496 from Punjab, 926,935 from Sindh, 169 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and 3243 from Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

According to the details, 1781 people died due to floods among which 48 hail from Balochistan, 1156 from KPK, 110 Punjab, 213 Sindh, 71 AJK and 183 from GB.
Number of injured reported is 2966, among which 98 were from Balochistan, 1198 from KPK, 350 from Punjab, 1173 from Sindh, 87 from AJK and 60 from GB.
19,10,439 houses were damaged due to the floods including 75,261 from Balochistan, 200,799 from KPK, 509,814 from Punjab, 11,14,629 from Sindh, 7,106 from AJK and 2,830 from GB, the release further said.
521,993 blankets have been distributed among flood victims along with 1591 bucket, 149 Cholera Kit, 16851 clothes, 268.66 tons dates, 117 de-watering pumps, 72 emergency medicine kits, 2290 emergency drinking kits, 900 Foam beds/mats/folding beds, 784 First Aid Boxes, 72078.46 tons food items, 1120 generators, 5817 hygiene kits, 23486 Jerry Cans, 8069 jackets, 2458 kerosene stoves, 116462 kitchen sets, 3732 mosquito nets, 290891 tents, 121 water tanks and 78796.98 water bottles, added the release.
