Shahbaz writes letter to Gilani over petrol crisis

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed concern over the petroleum crisis in various cities and towns of Punjab and demanded that the federal government take immediate action to resolve the problem, a private TV channel reported on Sunday. In his letter to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Shahbaz wrote that the scarcity of petrol and petroleum products had paralysed life in the province. He said as a result of the shortage, people were forced to buy petroleum products on inflated rates, the channel reported. In response to the letter, Gilani directed Federal Minister for Petroleum Naveed Qamar to take immediate steps to overcome the shortage, the channel reported. daily times monitor
